As a ten-year-old I was obsessed with exploring immersive worlds through spherical panoramas that captured entire scenes in a single image. I followed progress in the field from the old QTVR panoramas in the late 90s, to the more flexible Flash format in the 2000s, to when it went mainstream through smartphone apps and 360 cameras. In 2010 I made my first spherical panorama using my DSLR, the 18-55mm kit lens, a tripod, a Nodal Ninja MKII panohead, PTGui software, HDR bracketting & tone-mapping.
