The Orca Geoglyph, Palpa, Peru
Peru
The Orca Geoglyph is one of the remarkable ancient figures found in the Palpa desert, in the Ica region of southern Peru. This geoglyph is part of the broader cultural landscape of Palpa and Nazca, an area known for its impressive desert drawings created in pre-Columbian times. The figure is generally associated with the late Paracas and early Nazca cultural traditions, dating to roughly the first millennium BC to the early first millennium AD. This 360° panorama allows viewers to appreciate the geoglyph within its arid hillside setting and to explore one of Peru’s most fascinating archaeological landscapes.
