Suva Harbour abandoned vessels (aerial)
Fiji

A 31m aerial view overlooking a handful of tuna fishing vessels in Suva Harbour outside of Suva, Fiji.  This is one of a handful of cluster of abandoned boats that sit in decay within the harbour, many of Chinese origin.  They have been an obstacle for other incoming ships as well as an environmental hazard.  Much of the issue is a result of weak enforcement & lax enforcement to get the boats removed, as well as limited insurance & salvage costs, leaving the cleanup at the expense of local authorities.  As a result, the Suva area has been a dumping ground for these abandoned ships w/ the problem escalating particularly since COVID-19.
