Before the last part of the road to Havøysund was opened in 1988, daily ferrys left from and to Snefjord to bring the people of Havøysund to Nerwegian mainland. The 90 minutes journey became effortless when the last 38km of the 889 became available. Snefjord offers a beautiful resing area, well worth a stop!
