Originally built in the late 1970s, the Pasar Besar Seremban has survived several challenges, most notably a devastating fire in September 2017 that gutted the entire upper floor. The local community rallied together, and the market underwent a significant RM12 million renovation to modernize its facilities while retaining its traditional soul.
Beyond groceries, the market is a culinary landmark. It is world-renowned among food enthusiasts for the Seremban Beef Noodles, Hakka Mee, and Seremban Siew Pow served at the upstairs food court. For many locals, a trip to the market is a weekend ritual that combines essential shopping with a hearty traditional breakfast, making it the definitive social "living room" of the city.
