The River of Life (ROL) project was launched in 2011 to transform the Klang and Gombak Rivers from a polluted eyesore into a vibrant landmark for recreation and tourism. The project covers several key areas, with the most famous being the area around Masjid Jamek, the city's oldest mosque.
A highlight of the area is the "Dancing Symphony Fountain," where a high-tech water system is synchronized with music and blue lights at night. The project has successfully integrated history with modernity, cleaning the river water and creating a seamless "Heritage Trail" that connects the city's colonial past with its dynamic future.
