The Blue Eye is a natural coastal feature of Martinique, a rocky basin shaped by marine erosion where light gives the water deep blue reflections. This spectacular site illustrates both the power of the ocean and the fragility of volcanic coastlines. Warning: despite its seemingly calm appearance, the site is dangerous. Sudden waves can rapidly fill the cavity or violently project water upward. It should be observed from a safe distance, only in calm sea conditions, and swimming or entering the site is strongly discouraged.
