酒泉公园又称泉湖公园，位于酒泉市东2公里处，因园中有酒泉而得名，已有两千多年的历史，现为一座集古典园林、天然湖、文化游憩、趣味娱乐于一体的综合性公园。 酒泉，因传说泉中有金，故又名"金泉"。史传汉武帝元狩二年(公元121年)，骠骑将军霍去病西征匈奴，大获全胜于此，武帝赐御酒以赏，霍去病以功在全军，人多酒少，遂倾酒于泉中，与将士共饮，故有"酒泉"之名。今泉犹在，园林式建筑、牌楼历经修茸，保存完好。园内有清代的"西汉酒泉胜迹"和"汉酒泉古郡"石碑，及左宗棠手书"大地醍醐"匾额，成为游客酒泉之行的必游之地。
