Klebang Beach Melaka
Malaysia
Klebang Beach’s iconic dunes are not a natural phenomenon but the result of extensive land reclamation projects initiated in the late 1990s. When beachfront development was halted due to soil stability concerns, the massive piles of sand were left idle, eventually being shaped by the wind into the picturesque dunes seen today. Historically, the area was a bustling fishing community vital to Melaka’s culinary heritage; local fishermen once caught the krill used to produce the state’s famous cincaluk (fermented shrimp) and belacan (shrimp paste). Today, while the reclamation has altered the ecosystem, it has created a premier tourism hub famous for the Klebang Coconut Shake and its unique "blank canvas" for wedding and social media photography.
