During the day, we visited the beautiful Sommarøy archipelago, but the weather didn’t cooperate and we couldn’t enjoy it as much as we had hoped.
After arriving at our accommodation around 4 PM, we noticed that clear skies were forecast for the evening. We knew we had to give it another shot and head back to Sommarøy, about an hour away.
The viewpoint at Ørnfløya promised stunning views, and we were hoping the northern lights would make an appearance as well. Unfortunately, the aurora didn’t show up. After several hours, as clouds started rolling in, we decided to call it a night and head back.
Sometimes things don’t go as planned, but hiking through the Arctic landscape under the moonlight was an unforgettable experience.
